Plymouth, MN – October 30, 2008 – Reflecting its commitment to helping improve access to better health care around the world, Miga Solutions recently worked with staff from Mayo Clinic – Luther Midelfort Hospital, the Mayo Clinic Department of Medicine Program for Underserved Health and Operation Blessing to donate and install a fixed x-ray system at the Hospital Escuela in Honduras.
The Hospital Escuela, a 1,000 bed teaching hospital in Tegucigalpa – the capital city of Honduras, provides healthcare services for an estimated population of 12 million people. The x-ray system was professionally de-installed, packed and staged for shipment, and transported to Honduras for installation at the hospital. The installation was completed on a Sunday, and before the team had even cleared out their tools, it was already being used to see patients.
“X-ray is a fundamental clinical technology that can make a huge difference in the delivery and quality of care,” said Peter Robson, CEO of Miga Solutions. “We are grateful for the opportunity to work with a leader like the Mayo Clinic to help contribute to improving the availability and quality of care not only in Tegucigalpa, but also in other communities around the globe. We will continue to provide support for more of these projects in the future.”
