It is easy to think that older digital X-ray imaging equipment has limited value. However, the age of the detector can be an important factor in determining the value of the system. For example, a 10 year old digital mammography system with a newer detector (less than 3 years old) can be worth 5 times as much as the same system with the original detector.
Know the age of your X-ray detector versus only the age of the system to help you understand what your equipment is worth, and get the most value for equipment you are selling or trading-in.
By knowing the age of your detector, you may find hidden value in old equipment to help your hospital save money, or find resources to pay for new equipment your hospital needs.
