Many medical equipment suppliers are getting increasingly creative with their sales proposals for new equipment. This includes “bundling” equipment with other products and services or including some line items for “free” or at zero charge.
Don’t accept quotes for equipment that include any items listed as “free” until you’ve validated each line item in the quote. Insist that your sales representative provide line item pricing for each component of the quote.
Getting good information is the best way to maximize savings. Remember that free is never really free, particularly in healthcare. Resist the temptation to take advantage of what may seem like a good offer on the surface, but could be more expensive than it looks.
